About The Role:
The newly redesigned position of Head of People Services
is a key leadership role supporting the organisation’s next phase of strategic growth. As a vital member of the Senior Leadership Team, this role will lead a broad people portfolio—including employee experience, workforce planning, WHS, ER/IR, L&D, and volunteer programs—while playing a pivotal role in shaping a culture that reflects the organisation’s faith-informed mission and commitment to care.
Lutheran Services is commencing the implementation of a new five-year strategic plan, with a strong focus on workforce capability and growth - making this an exciting time to join and help shape the future of care delivery across Queensland.
With a workforce expected to significantly expand in coming years, this role offers the opportunity to design and deliver future-focused people services and strategy at enterprise level. The successful candidate will step into a highly capable team, and contribute directly to organisational transformation, service expansion, and values-aligned workforce capability.
Key areas of delivery include:
- Workforce strategy and planning – design and implement a three-year workforce strategy to support future growth and capability uplift.
- Employee experience and lifecycle transformation - reimagine hire-to-retire mechanisms including onboarding, EVP, performance, and benefits.
- Enterprise WHS and wellbeing leadership – embed preventative safety practices and lead a holistic wellbeing strategy across all service areas.
- Industrial and employee relations – navigate EA obligations, coach leaders and ensure values-aligned outcomes.
- Organisational development and capability frameworks – drive cultural alignment, leadership development and competency-based workforce planning.
About You:
You are an experienced and strategic HR executive who brings a proactive, people-first mindset to everything you do. With proven capability leading high-performing HR teams and delivering people services across complex, multi-site organisations, you’re energised by the opportunity to support major growth and shape people strategies from the ground up. Your background may span aged care, health, NFP, or other values-aligned service sectors - or commercial settings where human dignity and employee wellbeing have remained central to your leadership.
You’re confident navigating complexity, engaging with executive stakeholders, and leading change. Most importantly, you’re someone who understands the power of culture, and brings both heart and clarity to building respectful, inclusive and purpose-driven workplaces.
