Our client is a well-regarded, family-owned business operating across the Electrical, Power Distribution, Manufacturing, Construction and Maintenance sectors.  With 150 staff across seven companies and annual revenue of approximately $55million, the business continues on a stable growth trajectory.
They are now seeking a Finance Manager to support the parent group and collaborate with individual businesses to drive strategic initiatives that enhance financial sustainability and support continued growth.

This role is critical in overseeing accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll and financial reporting, while working closely with the Director and broader Executive team to provide expert financial advice, ensure process efficiency, and enable informed decision-making. 

The Role:
This role offers the opportunity to lead a small team in a fresh and dynamic working environment and culture. Reporting to the Director, you will be responsible for:

  • Driving operational efficiency, value creation, and informed decision-making through the delivery of robust financial modelling and high-quality insights;
  • Supervising and supporting the Finance team (Accountant, Accounts Payable/Receivable and Payroll) whilst managing hands-on tasks;
  • Coordinating with external auditors for timely and accurate annual audits; and
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management for the Executive team, contributing to strategic initiatives; and
  • Managing any finance-related projects to do with process efficiency or system and reporting enhancement.  
About you
To be successful in the role, you will be a commercially minded and detail-oriented Finance Manager with strong communication skills and a sense of urgency to respond to queries and support Executives as required. You will have proven leadership skills with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment. Further to this, you will have:
  • Tertiary qualifications in Accounting or related field and CPA/CA qualification ideally;
  • Demonstratable experience in business planning and finance strategy development, at strategic and operational levels;
  • Strong financial modelling and analysis skills with the ability to interpret complex data and translate it into actionable insights;
  • Demonstrated capacity to provide timely, compelling and concise reporting and advice to inform Executive members and other key stakeholders to support decision making; and
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively across all levels and develop collaborative and effective working relationships.
