Powerlink Queensland is at the forefront of how energy is delivered across the State, providing reliable, secure and affordable transmission services to millions of Queenslanders and is looking for an outstanding leader to join their Executive Team to help deliver and maintain world-class energy infrastructure.
The Executive General Manager Field and Asset Management is responsible for setting the strategic direction and overseeing the safe, efficient and reliable operations of Queensland’s high voltage transmission network. With accountability for field delivery services, asset management and maintenance, the EGM will shape and lead a state-wide operating model that enables 24/7 network performance, underpinned by a culture of high performance, visible safety leadership, innovation, and continuous improvement.
Reporting directly to the Chief Executive, the EGM will contribute to the achievement of Powerlink’s strategic and operational priorities, aligning divisional outcomes with customer, community and stakeholder expectations. This includes delivering commercially sound service and operational agreements, optimising asset performance and lifecycle investment, and ensuring readiness for the demands of an evolving energy landscape.
To be successful in this role, you will bring substantial executive leadership experience gained in engineering, utilities or similar operational environments, ideally with responsibility for geographically distributed infrastructure and 24/7 field services. You will be highly skilled at navigating complex regulatory and governance frameworks, leading multidisciplinary teams, and delivering outcomes that balance safety, reliability, resilience, cost and customer value. With exceptional communication and stakeholder management capabilities, you will be a visible and trusted leader.
Relevant postgraduate qualifications in engineering or a related discipline are essential, as is a deep understanding of asset and operational planning, and the ability to lead through complexity and change.
This is a rare opportunity to lead a high-impact portfolio at a critical time for Queensland’s energy future, helping deliver an electricity network in a changing environment, drives innovation, and ensures long-term reliability and affordability for generations to come.
