Health Workforce Queensland (HWQ) is seeking a commercially minded and values-driven Chief Executive Officer to lead the organisation in delivering its critical mission: increasing access to a highly skilled, culturally competent primary healthcare workforce in the rural and remote communities of Queensland that need it most.

As CEO, you will shape and implement HWQ’s business strategies and operational plans in line with their purpose. You will ensure that their services reflect the current and emerging health workforce needs of the communities they serve, and that they respond with impact, integrity, and care. Reporting to the Board, you will inspire a high-performing team and build enduring relationships with governance bodies, government agencies, Indigenous peak bodies, PHNs, Primary Care NGOs, Hospital and Health Services, and the wider Rural Workforce Agency Network (RWAN).

Your leadership will strengthen HWQ’s position as a trusted advisor and service provider, ensuring the organisation continues to deliver evidence-based, community-focused workforce solutions. You will lead the organisation’s contribution to national workforce strategies, lead commercial options to ensure sustainability and maintain financial sustainability through sound planning and oversight.

You will be adept at navigating complex stakeholder environments, confident in high-level negotiations, and capable of translating strategy into measurable outcomes. You will empower others, foster an engaged and inclusive culture, and uphold the values of integrity, commitment, equity and sustainable growth.
